Very Low Bitrate Compression of Video Sequence for Virtual Navigation

This article deals with the representation of video sequences for very low bitrate coding. From a uncalibrated video sequence of a static scene captured with a monocular moving camera we can automatically compute a 3D model stream. We propose a method using those models to reconstruct the original sequence or a virtual one, allowing to freely navigate in the sequence. We added an automatic 3D morphing to reduce artifacts introduced by the use of several 3D models and to obtain a visually good sequence.
